Yorkshire Velo is not just another sponsored racing team. Yes, we are sponsored and yes we do race, but there’s much more to us than that!

Over the last few seasons we have built a reputation for promoting top quality events including the first ever Yorkshire 10m TT Championships in 2007 however, what probably sets us apart from most other clubs is our charity support – by fundraising and displaying the Alzheimer’s Society and the MS Society logos on our club kit.

What we do...

We take part in time trials, road races, track racing at Manchester and Scunthorpe, grass track racing, cycle sportive events, reliability rides and club runs. Most members race during the summer and we do plenty of training/social rides through the winter months. We have social events throughout the year including trips to the Manchester Velodrome.

The club participates in the Cyclesense Tadcaster Thursday Night Evening League – a series of weekly time trials on 10, 15 and 25 mile courses that run from May to August. Second claim members are eligible to ride in this league.

We also support the British cycling Roundhay Grass Track League. Held on Monday nights (May to August) at 7pm, Roundhay Park, North Leeds, the league includes a variety of races (sprint, points race, devil-take-the-hindmost, handicap, whatever else takes the organiser’s fancy!) for male and female competitors aged 5 to 60 plus.

Club members are also supporting two British cycling sportive events in Yorkshire this year – The White Rose Classic and the Ryedale Rumble. Both are over 100 miles and are routed around the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors respectively.
