Two wins a piece for Mike Marshall and Doug Hart and a league win for RIchard Hamilton.
Cleveland Whs 10m TT - 01.08.10
Racing on the A19 at Crathorne Richard and Kirstie Hamilton both rode pb's with 22.21 and 27.35 respectively, Richard's time being good enough for 6th place. Richmond Denton recorded 23.29 for a season best, just missing out on the top 10.
Drighlington 10m TT - 07.08.10
A new event, on a new course, using the 'new' stretch of the old A1 below the Red Wall course down to Kirk Deighton. Having been at the wrong end of two close finishes this season, Doug Hart finally got the win with 21.56, ahead of Ian Fairweather (Yorkshire RC) 21.58 and Steve Gore-Brown 21.59. The weather was 'inclement' to say the least and Nigel Goscinski was caught in the worst of it to record a modest (for him) 23.44.
Tadcaster League 10m TT 12.08.10
The final event in the league saw YV almost complete a clean sweep on
the V910A course. Doug Hart placed first with a course record 22.28,
Richard Hamilton second with 23.35 and Andy Johnson tied for third with
Matt Lunn (Team Swift Allsports) in 23.51. Good rides on the night also
came from Mark Glynn, Jason Hemsworth, Dave Virden and Kirstie
Hamilton.
Bridlington BC 10m TT - 14.08.10
YV riders had a good day out on the V718 course with PB's for Doug Hart (20.10), Richard Hamilton (21.18), Dave Virden (23.45) and Kirstie Hamilton (25.40), whilst RIchmond Denton recorded a LTS best of 22.04. Hugh Smith was on track for an excellent ride before having to dismount to try and fix a mechanical finishing in 22.14.
CDNW Maxgear Road Race League 15 & 22.08.10
The 13th race in this 3/4 cat league was certainly not unlucky for Mike Marshall. Mike went from the gun, got a sizeable gap, and held off all chasers to take a solo win with a two minute margin.
The following week no-one expected Mike to attempt another 50mile solo effort. However that is exactely what he did and he proved two strong for the field, winning by two minutes from three chasers with a further 3 1/2 minutes to the bunch.
YCF 30m TT - 28.08.10
A challenging wind did not stop Nigel Goscinski setting an new club vets record of 1:09:32. Mike Marshall and Doug Hart both made the top 10 with 5th (1.05.14) and 9th (1.06.39). The three took the team prize by over 8 minutes from second place Yorkshire Road Club.
Team Swift Charity 10m TT - 29.08.10
Very strong winds meant that times would be much slower than recent outings on the V718. However, Richard Hamilton and Richmond Denton both produced excellent rides to finish 2nd and 10th in the middle-markers event.
Pool Triangle League
Richard Hamilton took first place in this season long league organised
by Woodrup Cycles having produced consistently good times and getting
under the magic 30min barrier on several occasions
