Hope XC Race Series Round 1 - 3.06.10
After a couple of recent wins Nick Butcher knew he was in good form. However riding in the Racer category Nick was up against several Expert category riders for this race based in Lee Quarry, North of Rochdale.  After the first lap Nick was sitting in 2nd place and took the lead following a crash continuing on to take the win whilst a tough battle for the remaining podium places took place behind.

National Championship 25m TT - 5.06.10
Six months of planning and preparation by a YV organising committee led by Richmond Denton, and help on the day by countless YV members and friends, led to a successful promotion of the CTT blue riband championship event.
From the CTT report:

The day-long festival of time trialling saw nearly 250 riders competing for the medals on the course based on Boroughbridge, in a faultless Yorkshire Velo promotion that would be hard to better.

The relatively traffic-free course provided an excellent setting for the championships, with Michael Hutchinson later remarking that he would like to see “all the championships” held on it.

In addition to helping out on the day, Mike Marshall and Richard and Kirstie Hamilton all rode the Championships. Finishing 42nd (Mike) and 111th (Richard), both were well ahead of their qualifying time seedings of 102 and 157 respectively.  Kirstie equipped herself well in her first ever 25 mile time trial to finish 48th in the women's event.

Tadcaster League Cawood Circuit 12.5m TT - 10.06.10
As with two weeks earlier, YV placed 4th and 5th, but this time with John Woods getting the better of Hugh Smith.

Nutcracker MTB Series Round 3 - 13.06.10
Having won the previous two rounds all eyes were on Nick Butcher.  Nick was faced with increased competition as more riders made the trip to race the Dalby course ahead of the National Points series race a few weeks later.  Nick had an excellent start hitting the singletrack in first position and pulled away from the chasers through out the race to complete a hat trick of wins in the series.
