Elmet CRC 10 and Crit racing - 1.07.09
In his first race for Yorkshire Velo new club member James Gullen achieved an impressive 5th in the Elmet CRC 10, less than 30 seconds down on local fastmen Steve Smales and Paul Kaye.  Andrew Johnson placed 10th and Andy Waters got the better of Denise Shackleton by a single second.

Meanwhile in bunch racing Dan Shoreman picked up 4 ranking points by placing 6th in a bunch gallop for the line in the  Rochdale GP crit (3/4 cat). Further north Karl Denton just missed out on the points finishing 12th in the Tyne & Wear Firebrigade Coalfield Crit (E/1/2/3/4).

Darley Moor Circuit Race - 4.07.09
Charles Tennick got on the podium with a fine 3rd place in the 6th event in this 3/4 cat series.  Charles picked up seven points managing to avoid the crash in the bunch sprint that unfortunately saw one rider leave in the air ambulance.

Doncaster Whs Summer Road Race - 5.07.09
Dan Shoreman continued his good run of form, and picked up another point, by finishing 10th behind a leading group of six in this 2/3/4 cat race.

Brighouse Crits 7.07.09
Dan Shoreman, John Smith and Charles Tennick all featured in this ever popular 3/4 cat town centre race.  Charles was unlucky to come down in a crash on the first lap and retired after 8 laps.  John got round in survival mode, but Dan had another great ride for 9th, picking up another point.

Team Swift 10 - 8.07.09
Back on the V718, but not an ideal night, Nigel Goscinski managed another PB bringing the club Vets record down to 20.32

Yorkshire 10m Time Trial Champs - 11.07.09
A large number of club members contributed to another successful running of this event. In addition to all the 'behind the scenes' graft, the club also managed race success this year with James Gullen winning a silver medal in the Espoirs category and, together with Doug Hart and Mike Marshall (6th and 7th Seniors) taking the team bronze.

Vets 25m record
Nigel Goscinski lowered the vets record twice in consecutive weekends with 56:42 at the Yorkshire RC event on 18 July 2009 followed by 56:33 a week later in the Adept Precision event.

YCF 10 - 22.07.09
Wind and rain made for a hard night on the redwall.  John Woods produced the ride of the night to win the handicap competition, getting the better of Andrew Johnson, whilst James Gullen made the top 10.  Denise won the women's prize whilst second claimer Andy Jackson (Pedalsport CC) was second overall.

VTTA (North) 10 - 22.08.09
On a windy day when records were never going to fall, Nigel Goscinski narrowly missed 'the podium' placing 4th with 22.26.

YCF 30 - 30.08.09
John Woods produced another fine ride to take the club vets record with 1:11:55 whilst Doug Hart placed 7th with 1:06:11.

City RC (Hull) 2up - 20.09.09

Several club members ventured over to this end of season 2 up, where one rider must be a vet.
James Gullen rode with his dad Ray (Scarborough Paragon) to win both the composite and father & son categories. Nigel Goscinksi and Ricmond Denton were in seperate composite teams finishing 3rd and 4th in the category.

YCF 25 - 04.10.09
In the last time trial of the season John Woods ended on a high note with a new PB of 56.41, tantalisingly close to the club vets record.  However Nigel Gosciniski then proceeded to push that record a little further away by lowering it to 56.23.  There could be an interesting battle to watch next season.

Tadcaster League
The season long Tadcaster League saw 4 YV's in the top 10, with Doug Hart taking the overall title:
1 - Doug Hart
4 - Andy Johnson
6 - John Woods (4th vet on std)
9 - Hugh Smith
A total of 13 YV's rode at least one league event.

The conclusion of the league saw club members taking part in the Seacrot Wheelers organised team time trials.
In the 2 up event  Hugh smith/John Woods placed 4th whilst Mark Glynn/Nick Griffiths finished 5th.  In the 3 ups the following week Doug Hart/John Woods/Andy Johnson came first and Mark Glynn/Nick Griffiths/Hugh Smith 4th.
